Welcome to beautiful Largo

........... twinned with Robinson Crusoe Island in the South Pacific

Largo is a golfer's Paradise. The best golf in Scotland is here and near.

Even the magnificent prehistoric standing stones shown on this page are on a local fairway!

Largo is a small district of villages and farms in Fife (county) on the east coast of Scotland. It is a gateway to nearby St. Andrews and to the picture-postcard East Neuk of Fife. We have miles of beautiful beaches, one being a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Our golf centre, Lundin Links, has two clubs, and there are plenty more nearby. Lundin GC has one of the best courses in the UK, while our other club is the oldest Ladies' Golf Club in the world. Its course has a tall Bronze Age stone henge proudly straddling a fairway. Both courses welcome visitors.

Lower Largo was the birthplace of Alexander Selkirk, the real-life Robinson Crusoe. Its attractive setting and stunning sea views make it a haven for resident and visiting artists. It is also the home of the dinghy-racing Largo Bay Sailing Club (www.largobaysc.org.uk).

Upper Largo was birthplace and home to Sir Andrew Wood the distinguished Admiral and Ambassador, and to Sir John Leslie, the first scientist to create artificial ice.

Largo is coastal, rural and beautiful ...
